Try uninstalling and deleting all versions of java from your Add or Remove Programs Control Panel. Then Then d/load and install the current version using the offline installer: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 2

If that fails, uninstall and try: Java Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 12, use the offline installer.
