not working (LW crashes after splash screen)

Hey,
Im not sure if there was a problem with the installation but it seemed to have worked fine a few weeks ago. Now every time I want to use Limewire I have to re-install it. After the installation, it crashes when the splash/intro screen has finished. I don't know what might be the problem I'm open for any suggestions ? Thanx.

Try these fixes..
Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE offline version....(5th one down)

Then uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer...

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder...

REMOVE JAVA UPDATE 6.1. GO TO START / SETTING / CONTROL PANNEL / ADD/REMOVE AND THE LAST ONE OF JAVA REMOVE IT.

If you're having to reinstall LW then maybe one of your security programs is removing the LW .exe file? What antispyware do you use? Some antispyware will see LW (wrongly) as a threat. Who is your ISP & do they include any antispyware or other security programs? Just as an example, some AOL customers have found that they have probs with LW for this reason Use the forum search to look for PestPatrol & you'll get a better idea!
