thanks allot for your help....
try this link as it's helped out a few vista users (Vista Limewire Fix Once And For All) -- If that does not help with your problem try deleting your limewire folder (Preference folder)

(Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should)
(LimeWire Pref Folder in Vista)

If your problem still remains please post your system details -- click on link below

i have vista home, i have used the offline installer, updated the latest java, removed all older java versions, the font size has always been set to normal (96dpi)...
but still get the same problem. can somebody help me and advise what to do...

I have Windows Vista Home Premium. I was running LW quite successfully for the longest time. I uninstalled a Registry fixer that crashed my computer. I thought I had everything back to normal, but when I went to reinstall LW, it never gets past "Step 4". I tried many times but to no avail. Am I doing something wrong or did I misconfigure something somewhere? Please, HELP!

Uninstall LW do it via Start menu -> Programs -> LW -> Uninstall.

Download/run this utility (crap cleaner) now reinstall limewire using this version (Download ‘Other’ version & simply unzip & use!) Please ensure that you have Java installed. Use the OFFLINE installers for Java for safety. Use this link to download java if required -- download the latest version (Java downloads for all operating systems) In your add/remove programs you should only have 1 version of java -- if more than 1 delete the older version -- Let us know how you get on.
