Default Exact Same Problem

Dude, I have the same problem. I remember, I had to fix Quicktime and all. Have you resolved the problem? I've fiddled with the firewall, creating ports and exempted it. Still nothing.. total fail!

I want Limewire back

Unfortunatly, between June of 2008 and today, I am running a completly different machine. I never did get LimeWire to run on my old machine, even after over-installing XP Pro which is my current OS. I was able to get LemonWire to run on my old machine which is a LimeWire clone also on the Gnutella P2P network. Google "download Lemonwire" and you'll hit several sites that have LemonWire 5.5.4 available for download, that is the latest version that I have of LemonWire. I now have LimeWire 4.18.8 and LemonWire installed and running, no problems. LemonWire is less of a resource pig (CPU load and RAM used) than LimeWire, and IMO, works almost as good as LimeWire. Give it a try and good luck!

I've been running LemonWire for the past couple of weeks as I'm having processor load issues and LimeWire is a resource pig. I don't download torrent files as they are tough on the hard drive, no matter what torrent programs claim about protecting the hard drive from overheating and damage. Torrent files aren't worth the risk of hardware damage, no matter how much RAM is allocated for torrent file use. Stick with normal download files. Good luck!
