i have kis which has the firewall.
hey i think that may have worked the forced ultrapeer.

thanks for the help guys.
thanks a lot.

Peerless June 20th, 2009 10:28 AM

I use KIS and except for the effect of the date hack in BearStart it works fine with BS...i.e. that would not be your problem, and pulease turn your security suite back on!

I guess the forced UP helps because it perhaps more aggressively searches for connections..

Bearshare

I think bearshare sucks. It toataly screwed up my limewire and
frostwire libraries.I lost 80 % of my downloads and they were
scattered everywhere.

Peerless June 26th, 2009 04:55 PM

never heard of that happening before....

the old saying is "1 can short of a six pack"

you're nick is apt as you're obviously 3 short of a six pack...

I've never heard this happen either .
I've used Bearshare for years on many PC's - Win2k / WinXp .
Most of my friends also have Bearshare installed on their PC
and nothing of this sort ever happened .

What a load of crap !

your's is a simple case of obvious operator error...

BS and LW have totally different default sharing/downloads folders...the ONLY way a mishap could have occurred was by YOU sticking your nose into the process....

dimbulb...how about this...why don't you take a drive to my house and come inside...I'll then show you what the Texas Castle Laws are all about...

I can't get the music i have from bearshare onto my Itunes to put the music onto my ipod

is there anyway i can get around this?

Lord of the Rings June 30th, 2009 03:18 AM

uh .. different client program, but you can do it manually as described here: How to transfer music to my iPod (& iTunes) {click on link}. Unless you use manual updating of iPod (which is what I preferred), you can also create playlists that you wish to copy across to iPod.

Besides, under BS's menu bar -> Setup, if you look at iTunes option you will see an option to auto Add music to iTunes.

dogdmg333 July 29th, 2009 11:11 AM

can i put the autostart into the dp and will it automatically start up like that everytime

Lord of the Rings July 29th, 2009 12:28 PM

If you are using the BS 5 beta .. forcing Ultrapeer mode setting will remain each time you start up.

Father November 1st, 2009 03:42 PM

So I am using the Beta version, Setting time back, updated the connection cache, running in Ultrapeer, and finding tons of search reults.

Problem is there will be 100+ sources but when I try to download it says: Need more sources

Lord of the Rings December 18th, 2009 04:17 AM

What kind of file .. what's the file extension may I ask?
You might be accidentally selecting spam to download; http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...note-them.html

Spam is usually the first files that show up in searches. So wait for your search to settle before selecting files to download.

halfpack December 18th, 2009 07:55 AM

I have never sent a post saying Bearshare was or has sabotaged. I don't know who
did that post, but it wasn't me. I did send a post 8 mo. ago sayin that Bearshare
screwed up files in Limewire. The last post I sent was about a mo. ago asking why
so many hosts can't be viewed.I never did get a reply.I was under the impression that you had to share something to be able to download. Also,is there anyway to stop the annoying Limewire ad to upgrade(which I will never do) everytime I start
my computer & my wife said today it came up while she had a screen up applying
for a job?It's really pi--ing us off.

Peerless December 19th, 2009 03:03 PM

yeah....you're the one who blamed BearShare for messing with LW files...ahahahahahaha...

tell us all, just wtf does LW have to do with BearShare...i.e. why did you post your supposed LW problem in this forum???? can you read???? I'm sure you can, therefore the obvious secondary thought is that you just can't follow simple rules...like the rule to post in the appropriate forum...

now that p!sses me off...

Just song files...MP3. Doing a search for music andd the search comes back with a standard level of discoveries but then I can't download any of them.

Peerless December 22nd, 2009 09:23 AM

your IP address host has a .gov extension...

I'm thinking a lot of people are being smart and using PeerGuardian2 and that IP is on the blocklist, hence you can't get connected to them....

theresicokid August 29th, 2010 01:35 PM

got the same problem of need more sources im running windows 7 on a dell laptop 4gigs ram 500 gig harddrive i have suddenlink as a ip with a smc8014wn wireless router i think oh yea bearshare 5.1.ob25 with the starter program i have used this on my old dell 4700 xp machine for years with no problems at all thanks to reading this forum do i need to portforward or what thanks for any help

Lord of the Rings August 29th, 2010 10:26 PM

Need more sources usually means it cannot find hosts with the file. Re-searching as you did originally will hopefully find them. ;) If your connection is not good, use a different connection & listening port to your other computer if you still use that one.
