I was checking out your links, and I tried the one that you hit disconnect and wait five mins. and then hit connect! I don't know if it was just lucky, but it worked in a little bit after I reconnected! THANKS a million!!!! I hope it continues to work!

THANK YOU! Kind words from real "BRAINS" are well appreciated!! I copied and pasted a couple of your threads for easy access if needed!

Also I just opened Limewire and it connected immediately!!! Unbelievable!!! It's great to be connected once more! But in case I do have any more problems I know who I can turn to!

Can't connect
 
I have not been able to connect for a little over a week now. Tonight I purchased Limewire PRO and installed it thinking that may fix the problem. Now I still cannot connect. HELP!!!

1. OS version? XP
2. What firewalls you have? Windows Firewall is OFF McAfee is set to allow.
3. How much ram? 2 MB
4. Hard Disk space available? 180 GB
5. Connection type? DSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Speedstream DSL Modem
7. Where are you trying to connect from? HOME
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? LIMEWIRE 4.16.7 PRO Java 1.6.0_03
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? SBC
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? I RECEIVED YOUR TEST WORKED
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? NOPE
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. NEW PROBLEM FOR USER
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? NOPE
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? N/A
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? McCAFEE
16. What country are you living in? UNITED STATES

Won't connect get error!
 
I used to be able to open limewire, but now it says: it might be a firewall blocking the internet connection or a loopback connection. I've tried it all including restoring my computer to an earlier date. Help:shoot:

Hi sabruce01 In Limewire Links (below) click on (If LW will not connect) and go through these fixes -- if still no good try the link (connection problems) let us know how you got on with these fixes.

All I did was go into:
Start/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services
and in Services I enabled Universal Plug and Play and Wam Bam Kapow.
All the sudden the little green bars started showing up and I was connected.

I hope this helps.

LW no longer connects
 
VISTA, Avast anti-virus, LW stopped connecting last week...
