Thank you - I have wasted so many hours - now it is perfect.

maybe it's fixed

I ended up changing the preferences for Compatability to Windows 98, and it works now! However I now have potential virus threats/trojans on my computer. I'm starting to think iTunes is worth the $$$$$

:bangh:I am totally in the dark with "tech speak". I have a MacBook. I use Leopard Operating system. I have a 500 gig hard drive and about 2 months ago my limewire stopped working. I sent it to the trash and then downloaded it again, but it just won't open anymore. Can someone help me without talking tech talk? I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance... moondance208

First, the "delete-the-pref-folder" advice did nothing for me.

Steps:

1) Launch Limewire. See the new "Tips" dialog box? DISABLE the show-tips-at-launch checkbox. Then click "ok" and hope you never see that box again.

2) Go to LimeWire Preferences and disable the auto-connect at launch option.

3) Quit Limewire. Then relaunch Limewire. Then manually "connect" from the menu. Voila!

I surmise that the new Tips box is interfering with the application's ability to connect!

That didn't Help me. It still shows one bar.
