What is The Directory for Windows Vista?

Hi

I'm sort of having Connections problems. It wasn't until I Unistalled The Software and Re-Installed the Software Again, that it shows Full Connection.

Thing is, I think this may be a re-occuring thing.

Does anyone Know Why that happens and What can be done to resolve it, so I don't have to keep unistalling and reinstalling everytime I want to Use LW?

Also, What is the Directory for Windows Vista?

Thanx

For those who are having trouble connection to the Gnutella network using LimeWire, we have a potential fix. You need to delete your WHOLE LimeWire preferences directory. The directory can be found in the following locations:

OS X:
/Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire

Windows:
C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire

Linux:
~/.limewire

Please shutdown any instance of LimeWire you may have running, delete the whole directory, and then restart LimeWire. You should be able to connect.

I'd love to hear how this works for everyone.

Thanks!

(Can't Connect) How do I clear my Limewire preferences on Vista?

Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with the Limewire connection problem on Vista? I was able to connect with no problems for two years and now I can't get a connection to save my soul. All of my security programs are allowing it through, and I've used every troubleshooting recommendation I could find to no avail. It may be the clearing of the preferences thing that worked for so many of you, but Vista's documents and settings are rigged a bit differently then XP. There's a documents icon but no settings that I can find so I can't find the way to clear my limewire preferences. I'd be eternally greatful if anyone can help with this.

joe-001,
i had the exact same problem (i'm using vista too). did you try deleting & re-installing the gnutella.net file? b/c that was my problem, think it's a glitch or something.

See my reply to Mazzier at the top of this post for location of the prefs folder.
rissa*'s suggestion of deleting/replacing the gnutella.net file is often a fix. More info's found in this thread (click on link): http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...tml#post298705
If you're using LW 4 then you may need to replace the gnutella.net file. If you're using LW 5 then apparently you only need to delete the file.

Hi there,

When I get onto LW and I go to search for a song it does not return any files and says I need to be connected to find files.

What do I do to fix this??

Firstly check whether you are connected or not http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...tml#post338528 (click on blue link)

If not connected, see If LW Will Not Connect (click on the blue link) first then if still no good, post back details as it suggests.

Hey I'm also having trouble connecting to limwire.
I'm at school and it just stopped connecting one day. Everyone elses limewire works fine, so it has nothing to do with the school's LAN connection.
I've turned off my firewalls and virus systems, that doesn't work.
I've reinstalled limewire multiple times, and have deleted all existing limewire applications.
And of course I've tried restarting my computer.

Any ideas?

P.S. I have Vista

Try changing the listening port. Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Firewalls. You could try changing the connection port too. Choose one between 49152 - 65535.
