Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network.

See: ISP's known to BLOCK or Filter p2p or specifically Limewire. Also most routers have a nat firewall in them that need configured. See: Connection problems? Check here first!

![]() Those instructions are outdated. In LW go tools > options > advanced > firewall config. Change LW's listening port to 64049, or something in the range of 49152 - 65535. Click Apply to save the change. Try portforwarding your router to allow LW access through it. Most have a nat firewall that needs configured. Instructions here(be sure to setup a static ip first): PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall Try deleting LW's preference folder with LW completely shut down. See point 3 in this thread: Fixes for Limewire. This will reset all your option settings, so make a note of them first. Then if you could supply the details I linked to in my first post ![]()

![]() Try disabling "Spyware Terminator" to see if that might be blocking it. Delete LW's preference folder with LW completely shut down. See point 3 in this thread: Fixes for Limewire. This will reset all your option settings, so make a note of them first. Try port forwarding you router. I found some instructions here, but I don't know the model of yours. They should be close: Port Forwarding for the Gateway RCA DCW615R Uninstall your current version of java while LW is completely shut down. Go to the add/remove programs control panel and uninstall your current version of java. Now download and install J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 11(use the offline installer): Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11
