![]() 1. OS version? Windows XP Pro 2. What firewalls you have? Windows Xp default 3. How much ram? 2 gig 4. Hard Disk space available? HD>130 gig 5. Connection type? DSL Bellsouth 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? 2Wire home portal 1700 HW (software 3.5.15) 7. Where are you trying to connect from ? House 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? LW 4.14.12 Java 1.6.0_03 9. Who is your ISP ? Bellsouth 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ . It works 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? One computer on wireless, the one in question is connected through Ethernet. The wireless computer has a perfectly running limewire (and had it up before mine if that makes any difference) 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. I had LW on my old comp but i recently built a new one, so i have experience, but im still an idiot =) 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? I have tested LW with my router set to DMZplus mode (reboot and all), basically eliminating the router's firewall. Before that i set UPnP to be enabled and had my old port forwarding from my last comp 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? AVG antivirus free 16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). USA I stall at the connecting to network like everyone else i've done the Java update, made sure windows xp firewall was forwarded for limewire and then even disabled it for a while. I have simply no idea, like everyone else and i wait for enlightenment. |
