I've been having difficulties connecting to the limewire server for a while now. It seems that most days I can only get "one bar" though on random nights I'll get a full connection.

I'm really sorry, it seems that this topic comes up often, but I don't understand a lot of the technical jargan said in the help instructions.

I'm using limewire version 4.18.5. I use Vista and wireless high speed DSL. For security I have Norton 2008 and Window's firewall. If I'm forgetting any information, please let me know (and possibly how to find it =) )

Nortons 2008 has a firewall -- please disable your windows firewall -- running 2 software firewalls on your computer simultaneously will reduce your security and cause other conflicting problems. See if that fixes your problem if not in Limewire Links (below) click on (If LW will not connect) and go through these fixes -- if this doesnt work click on (system details) fill in and post back here-- if you have any problems understanding any instructions please let us know

3. How much ram? 2038MB
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? DSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? D-Link
7. Where are you trying to connect from? Home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? 4.18.5 and 1.6
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? NetFlash
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say !'. What happens when you go there? Your test worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? I'm not sure - I don't think so
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user: Its happened off and on.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? I don't know
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Norton Antivirus 2008
16. What country are you living in? Ontario Canada

Have you tried the fixes I mentioned in post #2 (If LW will not connect)
