ok got norton to allow limewire and it still wont work. I have a feeling now that it is my linkysy wireless router. I am on hold with linksys to allow a program but i know more than the damn techs and i dont know much, this is so frustrating. Can comcast set up a firewall and not tell me? ahhh

how do i get the port number for limewire and allow it in my linksys router... ?

These ports are 6346 (by default) and the 'listening port' shown in the 'firewall config' menu in the limewire settings --- Open Limewire -- go to tools/ options/advanced/Firewall -- look in the "listen on port box" -- easy way to check if it is your router firewall is to disable your router and try and connect to LW -- Is comcast your ISP -- check this out. you will see comcast listed -- they could be the cause of your problems.

ok so its not my linksys i disabled it and lime wire still didnt work. I am out of ideas. Are there any other programs that I can do the same thing on as limewire without all this crap?

it cant be comcast it didnt work at my friends house either and she has verizon FIOS

Yes you can try frostwire which is very similar to limewire -- download frostwire here or phex from here or bearshare from here
