yup

Looks like you are getting a java crash
Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0xf0d3efe0

(which isn't really a LimeWire crash). I'm not sure of this, and will check with some experts this weekend.

In the meantime, did you do the safe boot, and do you have more than 2 GB of free disk space?

The reason I ask is there's something with LW and Apple's java that causes the Virtual Memory to keep growing and using up lots of disk space.

Ratman October 30th, 2004 02:58 AM

yes and yes

Lord of the Rings October 30th, 2004 03:24 AM

Are you using the english/international version of LW? Did you try the beta 4.1.8 (english installer not international)?

Depending on your state, don't forget to change your clock forward tonight. lol

Ratman October 30th, 2004 03:38 AM

i am using version 4.1.8 english downloaded from mac update

btw it crashed just a few minutes ago did you want me to send you the log if so how much of it?

stief October 30th, 2004 07:17 AM

sure . . . from a few lines before "Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS" (or whatever the message is).

The lines probably start with the data and time of the current crash.

Ratman October 30th, 2004 05:15 PM

i am looking in the console log for LW and i can't find "Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS" nor can i find a date and time
not sure if i am looking in the right place
should i be looking in the crash report that OSX generates as their bug report to apple?

Lord of the Rings October 30th, 2004 05:18 PM

Do a search of your HDD for crash & you'll find a list of them. Then choose the most recent. Also tell us what the majority of crash reports you have are called.

Ratman October 30th, 2004 05:27 PM

the most numerous crash was "JavaNativeCrash_pid****.log"
and the most recent was "limewire.crash.log"
which part of it do you want

there are 54 of the "JavaNativeCrash_pid****.log" in the list

That seems to back up what I said to you earlier, pm. Since LW runs on Java. If Java is failing, then naturally LW will follow it if gets that far. Dare I say it & Stief may disagree here, but a clean re-install may be in need. I didn't dare suggest this 2 days ago although I thought it. I suspect there's something wrong with your Java installation. When installing/updating try to refrain from using other apps - I know how tempting it can be. But wait on Stief's response 1st! I'm no OSX expert!
