I would very much like a Windows Media Player-Type control beside the system tray for seeking, volume, changing the song, etc. This way you wouldn't need to open up LimeWire in order to do that. :)

Welcome Alpoh!

The LW media player is often the subject of complaints here; I don't know of anyone who would recommend using it.

Windows Media Player has the option to shrink to the bar, and surely there are many other free players that will do just what you want. I recommend searching majorgeeks, download, or tucows (all are .com).
I often use a simple little player called 1by1 that you might like; find it free @ above sites.

I don't expect LW developers to put much, if any, effort into improving the player.

Thank you! I got 1by1 and it's absolutely what I was looking for. I really hate having to open up LimeWire every time I want to change the song. Thank you again!

Something else you may consider Alpoh, is making a Shortcut of your Shared/Saved Folder to the DeskTop. This way you won't have to Open LW at all to listen to your music. :)

I am sorry to dissapoint the designers... version Limewire 5 stinks in comparison to the previous versions. What were you smokin' when you all agreed that this version was ready for release?

You can post feedback about the new version over at this other forum, there's a section for LW 5: LimeWire Forums

You're more likely to get a response from developers there;)

They did toss out many of the long time functions in LW 5, they felt nobody really wanted them, especially those with simple minds who just want a simple program. Such loss of functions makes the program a little erm ... lacking in a way doesn't it. :) Uploads hold much less importance now. Identification of viruses is not important now apparently. Connecting with people who might be online but you might not find in a search results is no longer important. Chatting is irrelevant now. I'll leave it there I think, there are more functions they cut of course.

Holy Crap, I DETEST how LimeWire 5 doesn't have drag and drop capabilities. It makes transferring to anything a pain in the neck!

Last I heard, 'some' of the old functions might be re-introduced. :)

Make A Limewire App

Limewire developers should start to consider creating an app for ipod touch or iphone. Basically, it would be able to do the same things as limewire on the computer just draw them from people iphones or ipod touchs. And instead of allowing people to trade programs, you could let them trade apps. Overall, the technology in this world is increasing in a way that soon computers will be outdated. Now people are using their iphones, ipod touchs, and cell phones for internet and other things. Limewire needs to get more with the program.
