Hm, your link looks very suspicious.

For one thing, it has three options of membership, and we have all learned what that means...:D

When I said I got a warm feeling I was being ironic, now that I know better. At the time I subscribed I knew nothing at all about the Gnutella network and hadn't heard about Limewire. I didn't know the network is free. (Am I right to believe this?) Now I know that a lot of sites are selling LW and use of the network.

Rogue Scammers

I have been reading your posts, and I have been done too, and I thought I would add my bit. I originally went to www,top-rated-mp3sites.com and I then went to a reviewed site www.MP3MusicLive.com where i consequently paid $37.41 US for free limewire. They said they have online tutorials and live web chats, which are nowhere to be seen in cyberspace and the one thing they do have are ads, which they said they didnt!
Please note all users that the review site contains all spam sites as far as I could tell. Another intersting fact is that if you do a google search for say... free mp3 downloads, or even free tv show downloads then you will be certain to find sites that all look remarkably similar......if you get my drift! ALSO BEWARE: BECAUSE OF LOW SECURITY SETTING NEEDED FOR SITE HACKERS ENTERED MY COMPUTER AND CAN ENTER YOURS TOO IF NOT CAREFUL.
I could say alot more......but I am sure you will be sick of reading by now!
Thank-you all for your help if it werent talking on this forum, I wouldn't have figured it out!

I finally got ahold of someone at "mp3livemusic.com." Told them that I knew I had been scammed and demanded my money back. The operator was very rude and tried to dispute that in nowhere did it say that I was purchasing LIMEWIRE Pro, but only a Pro version of their "support." I then informed them of my family friend who was an attorney (this is a true story lol) and that he had read my confirmation email from them and transcipts from this forum of people that were getting taken advantage of just like me. I informed them that this was indeed a scam and that if they did not want a class action lawsuit filed, that they would give me back my money. She snidely laughed and agreed to credit back my cc in full within 7-10 business days. I guess we'll see.

I feel they are trying Plan 2 by saying they will return the sum back to your credit card in 7 - 10 business days. Why should it take that length of time? Could it be that this is another delaying tactic to wear you down?

reduced rate

I supposedly got a reduced rate for the basic and the pro which ended up costing around 47 is that a scam?

In a word, yes.

Sometimes Bitter Medicine Works

Spar1691

Cheers for that, I am glad you took my comments in the way they were meant and not as a personal attacks, which some people mistakenly believe.

You know, I get angry when ordinary working people get ripped off by scammers and I believe that victims of these sites should not sit quietly back and just accept it. They should demand their money back and push their credit card companies and banks not to do business with parasites (rip-off merchants). After all, if the banks did not provide the necessary banking facilities these scam site would not be able to rip people off.

That’s why, in part, I changed the tone of my advice from "soapy soft" to "harsh" to tell people that if you don’t look after your money no one else will. Because the banks and CCs are only interested in the fees each transaction generates they don’t give a “flying toss” that a scam site customer is actually a victim of fraud. Unfortunately, that did not go down too well and people got angry with me instead of the site that ripped them off.

Spar1691, I am sorry the scammers won’t give you your money back but that is as expected, but the bank, as a respected institution, has a moral obligation to refund your money (which they can readily do by debiting the scammer’s account). Because they, the banks, provided the crooks and parasites with the necessary facilities that allowed you, and countless others, to be ripped off, so they should do something about it.

Anyway, good luck and we’ll meet up for that drink when this is over.

UK Bob
