Have you been using Java 1.6.0_02 for a while? Some people have had trouble with that version. Try this older Java instead. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version(s) before you install this one.
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

Now reinstall LW & make sure to use the offline installer. When you've clicked to download LW & the download box pops up, cancel it. You'll see an option to download the offline installer

If things are still stuffed, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).

I recently purchased a new laptop that has windows vista. I have been trying to install limewire for days now, and I continue to get the "the installation is corrupted please download and install again" message. I've tried multiple times and nothing seems to work! I've read almost every page of this thread, trying all the tips people have posted and still nothing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can someone help!! I had PRO 4.12 and I upgraded to the 4.14 but PRO is gone. Do I have to pay again to upgrade to PRO since I downloaded the newer version???? Thanks for your help on this!! Much appreciated.

Hello all. Looking for some help.
I have downloaded the JRE java offline, and downloaded LW basic offline. When the LW set up dialog box pops up I choose English... then it stops at Firewall Set Up and there are no next buttons. It just freezes up and shows LW 12% HTML loading. And that's all I get. I've installed and reinstalled 3 times. I tried to find the LW preferences but it's not showing up in my docs and settings.
Any ideas?

Did the installation actually finish?? Unless LW's properly installed, I'm not sure that you'll have a preferences folder.

Were you trying to download a Java or LimeWire installer?

when i close limewire it opens up about 15 seconds later by it self. than when i remove limewire from my computer a little window opens and says something from java that it was corrupted or something and to copy it...? anyone know how to fix this problem?

Sounds like you have a worm. Try this fix, it's worked for a lot of people.
The easy fix for Limewire popping up every few seconds (try this first)
