Actually, it does work all you have to do is this:

goto: my computer/ Drive C:/Documnets and settings

your Main Identity that stores everything/ then

there is a file that will say .Limewire

Delete the .Limewire file Folder

Then start up LimeWire
it will create a new .Lime Wire file when you restart Limewire wihout that Folder

It will start right up... it worked for me, and i have win xp :)

Help

I deleted all possible things and I got rid of my firewall, and I still cannot connect.

Limewire just doesn't work period.

Why doesn't limewire admit they have a major problem with their new version and find out what it is, fix it instead of asking people to figure it out themselves through deleting limewire files reinstallling and port numbers.

I have a Mac G5 and it simply doesn't work. What other programs are there besides limewire for the mac?

Because they can't control the problem(s) of people unable to accept incoming connections. If the mouthpiece of your phone is unscrewed, good luck finding people to talk to you.

LW does work for many. I've LW installed on a G3 (OS 10.2.8),G4 (10.3.3), PPC (Mac OS 8.6) and they all work even at the same time. Took a lot of help to discover the ISP filters, firewall and router blocks, but it works.

for a list of gnutella clients that are connecting this hour, see http://www.limewire.com/english/content/uastats.shtml.

Sigh.

Well, i am feeling the same as you about all of this stuffing around. I wasted x amount of dollars to purchase the Limewire program (which i think i may have been duped of) and have since been using Kazaa instead. Am not sure how compatible this is with Macs but i am finding it fine to use and it costs nothing. If you are only looking at downloading music, dvds, programs etc, this is the way to go.
Good luck - hope this helps.

:)

folks, i'm sorry you are having issues with getting limewire up and running. be assured that in the majority of cases LW works just fine - there are a myriad factors (extra programs on your computer, ISPs blocking gnutella, etc.) that are hard for us and/or beyond our control to deal with. if you are a PRO customer, feel free to email support@limewire.com for personalized assistance.

Connection trouble

I have eliminated every piece of limewire, re-installed,taken the firewall off, deleted the limewire file in my profile, in short, EVERYTHING listed in these threads andnothing works. It used to work but no more. There has to be something at Limewirethat is causing this...

By the way, I have XP Pro
