OS 9 doesn't have a built-in firewall, so that helps. Did you see the new post about connection problems?

I should have made step 1 more clear - you need to make sure LimeWire is totally shutdown before attempting this fix.

Thanks!

i have recently registered and am having a few problems connecting to LimeWire. I have been through all of the firewall checklist and everything seems to be fine on that note, however when i try to connect through the program, the search button is accessible for a second or so, then greys back out. I have tried to delete the preferences in my LimeWire folder, however there arent any there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

no connection

I have been using suprnova for a week no probs. Yesterday I get a begging message to help pay for the work done on bittorrent. I sent $10. Next time I tried to get on I was hijacked to this old kazza site renamed suprnova but stillGnutella. I thought ..ok lets pay for it and I won't have any probs. I paid $44.90 to morphus.com by paypal.

Guess what. Yes you are right. I can't connect to suprnova at all now. I am using Limewire as instructed. on a n XP machine through adsl.

Somebody put this right please. After paying for the service the least I expect is to get the thing working.
Excuse the tone but I am a bit p45767ed off.
Thank You.

Dennis Webster
PS How many suprnova sites are there?

Get your money back! Damn ripoff artists. Limewire is open source and FREE! Looks like a few fly-by-night outfits are scamming people.

See this thread for more abuse stories: one of the LW business managers also looks in on the thread, and they aren't happy about what those other sites are doing too. You should repost there too.
