First click on the link below and see if UPnP is enabled on you router if it isn't then enable it. http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.as...20/%20DI-714P+ |
I went through those steps and the UPnP button was not checked, so I guess I enabled it by checking that box and continuing. But then I just opened LW and tried to connect and didn't get anything. I changed the LW firewall settings to UPnP and tried it again to no avail. I didn't change the "listen on port" from 6346... Let me know if I should've... |
Try re booting your computer you do not need to set the listening port on limewire. If it doesn't work you may have to port forward let me know are you sure the other firewalls are off |
Hi, download patch frm the following link: http://www.lvllord.de/?url=tools You will get excellent connections. |
I rebooted and still get no connection. I verified that the Windows firewall and the Trend Micro firewall are both off. I don't see a way to turn the firewall off on the router, but like I've mentioned before, when I connect to my wireless network w/ my work laptop I have no problems. I've tried looking at the settings on that computer but it's set up differently since it's got corporate security, firewalls, etc... |
1 Attachment(s) boricua365 If you go to control panel/network connections does it say down in the lower left your connection is firewalled. |
It says connected, but not firewalled right now. |
Is there any other spyware detector or other security software on you new machine that could possibly be blocking LimeWire. |
I have Spybot, Ad Aware, and a program called Content Protect (v 1.8.1.32). I thought it might've been that last program, but in the settings the whole P2P section is set as "allowed". More info on that program at www.contentwatch.com. Maybe I'll disable Spybot and Ad Aware just to see... Let me know what other suggestions you've got... |
