What's your internet connection speed? LW shows speeds in KiloBytes, internet connection speeds are advertized in kilobits. 14KB/s = 112kb/s, 1Byte = 8bits. Remember some of your bandwidth is used for overhead. Do a speed test and post your results. Speakeasy - Speed Test Try d/loading a file from here also and see what speeds you get: + MagnetMix.com +: The Source for Good Content

1. OS version? Windows XP 2. What firewalls you have? Just windows- disabled 3. How much ram? 512mb 4. Hard Disk space available? 11.4Gb 5. Connection type? 8mb Broadband 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? BT HomeHub 7. Where are you trying to connect from? Home 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? Latest version available 9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? BT 10. Do this simple test for us. 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? My test worked 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. Nope, only thing i have running is explorer, msn and limewire, no programs apart from limewire using p2p... 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. I have had this problem for ages, just got fed up and decided to get it sorted. 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes http://www.gnutellaforums.com/attach...1&d=1158099342 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? It is set to automatic UPnP |

This is what i found: Limewire-4.12.11 Java-1.5.0_03 There are so many codes on the back of my hub, i havn't got a clue which one i should be looking for. I think this one is closet to what you're after but its the item code- 027262 Sorry if that doesn't help Last edited by chrisallen89; May 30th, 2007 at 12:44 PM. I'm so sorry you didn't need to look for a model number (another one of my blonde episodes )... Here are your instructions to Port Forward so Limewire can pass through, this should get rid of the brick wall in front of the globe... Port Forwarding for the BT Home Hub I also found that your ISP BT traffic shape p2p at peak peroids of the day.. Bad ISPs - AzureusWiki ::. Kitz - ISP Caps, FUPs and Prices .:: With your Java it should be updated... Uninstall your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....(4th one down) Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5 It's not the latest but the most stable as many members have had problems with the JRE 6.1...

I can't connect either Please help me to get connected. I was doing fine w/ Basic. I just upgraded to Pro. Now I can't connect (1st green bar). I have the following: 1. Mac OS 9.2.2 2. Norton Firewall 2.0 (LM allowed) 3. Built-in memory 384 MB, Virtual memory 385 MB, ram disk is off. 4. Hard disk has 10.94 GB available. 5. T1 LAN 6. I don't have modem or router. 7. Trying to connect from college dorm. 8. LM Pro 4.0.1 (is it obsolete?) MRJ 2.2.6 (Java 1.1.8??) 9. Using school network. 10.Test worked. 11. As far as I know, I'm not sharing connection. 12. I was using LM Basic for about a year w/o problems, but neither Basic or Pro will connect now. The reason I got Pro was because basic ceased to connect. 13. The brick wall thing is a feature LM 4.0.1 doesn't have. I've done everything from rebuilding my desktop and updating as much as possible (OSX doesn't run well on my G3). Thanks for your time. |
