Default cable connections rarely get new ip addresses

cable connections rarely get new ip addresses, i have also seen posts that compare dsl to cable in that the connect is slower depending upon distance from the server.
this is not true, cable runs fiber optic cable to your neigbor hood then when it reaches a node it converts the digital signals carried by fiber optic cables to rf that runs through cable lines.
you could never carry the forward or reverse signals any distances more than lets say 1000 feet without forward and reverse amps.
anyone not seeing the correct speeds with a cbale connection may have cable signal issues

a cable tech
