Windows Problems with installing LimeWire or WireShare for Windows users |

![]() I've read so many good reviews about Limewire that I was dying to download and install it. The download went fine, ending in a "Limewire Installation Successful" message. The, I went to run it for the first time, and ran into a problem with the Setup process. Here's the exact sequence of setup windows, and what happens at each step:
I checked the screen resolution, and tried varying resolution... no avail. I uninstalled and reinstalled... no avail. I read the various Forums (fora?) and tried several ideas, but none fit my problem exactly, and none worked. My system is an Intel P4 with 1.5 Gig of RAM, 50+GB of free hard drive space, running an up to date version of Windows XP. I've run various dianostic programs and my registry seems clean, and I have no viruses nor mal-ware. I run MacAfee Systems security, and (since Limewire downloaded OK), it doesn't seem to be a problem). Sorry to ask for help, but I've invested two hours in this and am just out of ideas, short of installing a non-flat panel display to see if the display is somehow "squeezing" the Limewire setup window to hide some buttons (I have a 19" flat panel on my PC, and can't easily find or borrow an older CRT to try this). Thanks, Boca Dave ps. Until now I would have described myself as a fairly experienced PC user, and one whom others go to for advise. I don't often need help, but I sure do need it now. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
