Thanks Lord of the Rings!

I seem to be back up and running.

I had to search for all instances of LW, THEN remove. (I should have known that.) The two other programs/updates you suggested I download didn't work. I believe I have the latest versions of both. (You suggested "2. Update your installshield install engine. 2. Update your Java: Java 1.4.2 (click on link)" )

All is well, thanks to you.

Oh, yes. I removes SP2, based on your information.

Thanks, again,
tamicee

I did that and it will connect for a second then disconnect. What can I do?

Lord of the Rings December 3rd, 2004 10:53 PM

Give LW some time. Leave it perhaps 30 - 60 mins to allow it sufficient time to settle.

Firewall instructions can be found here to allow LW access: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml So which firewalls do you have? What OS version do you use (wind 98, etc.)?

Just in case: May I ask what modem & router brand names & model numbers you have? Also where are you connecting from (home, school, work, etc.)?

new user

Looking through the forums, I seem to have the same problem many are having. I connect for a second or two and then it disconnects. I followed the instructions concerning the firewall, but it still doesn't work. I'm on XP.

Any easement of my frustrations will be greatly appreciated.

I`ve a question. If I Try to search for a song or a artist, LW says "there`s no connection to the Internet, but there is definitely a connectio with it. Also the button "You have no connection to the network" is showed, so what can I do ?
A few days earlier it worked.
