Try highlighting the files one at a time and click resume that should start a search for the file if LimeWire can find any sources it should start downloading. Only do 1 or 2 at a time if you do to many at once it could cause your connection to become unstable

Test #10 says your port is blocked it is probably your wireless router. The link below is the page you need to start on for your router you will need to setup a static IP address first just follow the instructions.

If you get confused you can go to the link below it will start you at the beginning.

airport express/ extreme

Could the reason I can't connect to Limewire have anything to do with the fact that I am connected through Airport Extreme and Airport Express routers? I've done everything else thats been suggested and nothing seems to correct the problem. Any thoughts?

For those who are having trouble connection to the Gnutella network using LimeWire, we have a potential fix. You need to delete your WHOLE LimeWire preferences directory. The directory can be found in the following locations:

OS X:
/Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire

Windows:
C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire

Linux:
~/.limewire

Please shutdown any instance of LimeWire you may have running, delete the whole directory, and then restart LimeWire. You should be able to connect.

I'd love to hear how this works for everyone.

Thanks!

1. Install Java 1st: Fixes for Limewire

2. Get the "Offline" installer version of LW.

3. Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link)

BTW most wireless routers/modems have NAT firewalls. So unless you have UPnP abilities you may need to manually port forward.

I have turned off the firewall and currently it is still disconnecting me from my network, what is wrong with it?

Also what do you mean by port forward?
